The BGI series of indices is designed to replicate exposure to publicly traded assets of Ukrainian business groups and track how successful Ukrainian oligarchs are on their way to capitalizing their businesses. After each major IPO, a special decision will be made as to further treatment of the relevant stock in the index. The BGI series consists of MCap-weighted, FF-adjusted indices for six business groups: Privat, System Capital Management, Interpipe/East One, Grigorishyn's group, Zhevago's group, and Industrial Union of Donbas. Several recognized groups are not included in the index series, either due to their solely regional focus, poor diversification across sectors or closed nature. Note on naming convention. The titles of some indices include the name of the beneficiary owner of the group, while others are based on the group's namesake; the rationale being just better recognition. It would also be difficult to deal with groups that have several owners.
